About Me

TL;DR: Art Director and Design Manager for Disney with over 10 years of experience in design leadership. I always have the travel bug, my husband made me a foodie, my son made me embrace my inner collector, and I’m passionate about design, Dodgers, and fitness. I live in the burbs, but my heart’s always in the city.

It’s nice to meet you!

I’m Nicole Chin—Art Director and Design Manager with over 15 years of design experience and 10 years of experience in design leadership.

My career started at ESPN The Magazine, where I was mentored by Siung Tjia. From there, I was taken under the wing of now Pearpop’s Head of Design, Nate Lu. Both Siung and Nate taught me the value of concepting, design thinking, and brand strategy—which quickly led me to pivot from journalism and publication design to branding and now digital design and products.

I am currently at The Walt Disney Company, where I first started as Product Design Marketing Creative lead for the launch of Disney’s digital service Movies Anywhere. This is a joint partnership between Disney, Universal, Sony, and Warner Bros. I’ve also had the privilege of learning from Danny Tong, Kristen Huntley, and Tony Sokolowski.

Being part of a digital product launch fed my entrepreneurial spirit and my passion for establishing process, building teams, and fixing broken systems. At the end of my 5.5 year tenure, I had established a legacy brand, converted my early-level designer to senior product designer (let’s also credit his hard work), and established my team as both marketing design and product design experts. We have worked on over 60 promotional campaigns, product feature launches, and retail/platform integrations—most of the time simultaneously and up to 15 a year.

I am now Design Manager for Disney Corporate Creative Resources, where I manage creative for corporate and consumer brands and experiences. In FY23, my team of 5 completed more than 150 brands, presentations, large and small scale event designs, and digital marketing.

I’m always happy to meet new people. Let’s work together.
